Our HVAA GK Academy is a continuous training program for our travel soccer goalkeepers. The program is designed for our beginner, intermediate, and advanced players. Our younger goalkeepers will focus on a training plan that covers handling, diving, positioning, and other basic keeper skills. Our more advanced keepers will focus on positioning, shot stopping, 1v1s, and playing with their feet in addition to sharpening the key basic techniques.

Our HVAA Goalkeeper Director, Thorne Holder, is also the head trainer for our club's GK Academy. Thorne, former Philadelphia Union keeper, brings a wealth of experience and is committed to improving the skill level of each player and teaching them to play confidently. He is supported by our full keeper staff, who also competed at the collegiate level. Click here to view our keeper training staff.

What does the program look like? During the regular fall and spring seasons, our trainers will meet with our HVAA keepers during weekly training sessions for specialized instructions.  

What is the cost of the program? The GK academy is free and available only to HVAA Travel Soccer goalkeepers.

We have an open roster spot for our 2010 Lions Girls Travel Soccer Team. This year-round team trains on a state-of-the-art turf field. For the 2024-2025 season, they will continue to compete in the top EDP bracket and highly competitive tournaments. The team is coached by our HVAA Professional Coach, Chris Shank.
