Born and raised in the North Jersey area, John Zuidema moved down to the Philadelphia area to attend Temple University. Growing up, soccer was a cornerstone of his life, and in college, he began to blog his thoughts on professional matches. After enrolling at Temple, this passion project resulted in time spent with the Philadelphia Union Academy and scouting work for a European Champion's League club.  In 2022, John began to focus more on coaching and joined HVAA, working with a number of teams.  He is also entering his fourth year working as an assistant coach for Temple University's Men's Soccer team.  John was recently named as the head coach of the HVAA Fury (2015B), HVAA Swarm (2012 B), and HVAA Stingers (2010B). Additionally, he holds an APFA Opposition Analysis certificate and TOVO v1 coaching license and is currently working towards his USSF D coaching license.
