Tryouts are for the 2024-2025 season, so your child will try out for the grade they will be in for the 2024-2025 school year. (NOT THE GRADE THEY ARE CURRENTLY IN.)

Register for Travel Basketball Tryouts by the June 1st Deadline!

NEW for the 2024-2025 Season: Tryouts will take place in JUNE, NOT IN THE FALL.  HVAA's Travel Basketball teams for the 2024-2025 season are forming in June, immediately after tryouts! Do not miss out! Tryouts are for boys and girls in grades 3 through 8. All interested players MUST complete the online tryout registration BEFORE participating in HVAA Travel Basketball tryouts. Only players who complete this online registration will be able to participate. Players can NOT sign up at the door! Register by the Saturday, June 1st deadline!  HVAA must have the final number of participants registered by June 1st, so we can plan the tryouts accordingly.

Once FREE tryout registration closes, HVAA can not accept any late registrations.


NEW for the 2024-2025 Season: Tryouts will take place in JUNE, NOT IN THE FALL.

Travel Basketball tryouts will begin on June 3rd and end on June 14th during the weekdays only. Tryout location will be emailed to all registered participants. Also, these are CLOSED door tryouts. Parents/guardians will check your child(ren) in for the tryout and then return to pick them up at the end of the tryout time. NO spectators will be allowed into the gym at any time before, during, or after the tryouts.

  • CHECK-IN/DROP-OFF & PICK-UP:  After the close of tryout registration, HVAA will communicate the check-in/drop-off procedures and pick-up process to the registered participants.
  • PLAYER EVALUATION PROCESS: External evaluators will be present to aid in player assessment.
  • BRING WATER: Please make sure your child brings their water bottle for the tryout, and make sure their name is labeled on their water bottle.
  • LEAVE BASKETBALLS AT HOME: No player basketballs will be permitted in the gym from anyone attending the tryout (No Exceptions!). HVAA will provide all balls for the tryout. 



  • TEAM ANNOUNCEMENTS: If a player was NOT selected for a team. HVAA will notify them by the end of June.
  • TEAM INVITES: Those players selected to play for an HVAA team will receive a team invitation in mid-June. Parents will have 48 hours to accept the invitation; otherwise, a non-response would be considered a decline of the roster spot.
  • PAYMENT & REGISTRATION: Those accepting the roster spot must register their child online and pay a non-refundable deposit of 1/2 the registration fee. The registration balance is required to be paid in full by June 30th.
  • TEAM PRACTICES: Practices for teams will begin in early September. Practices are usually CLOSED to parents, so please respect the coach's wishes if they choose to keep their practices closed. The practice schedule will be posted at a later time.
  • UNIFORMS: The uniform information will be communicated along with team announcements.
  • TEAMSNAP: All parents will need to download the app and mark player availability for all practices and game days. All team communications will be done through the app.
