HVAA Offices
Located at 625 Red Lion Road, our offices are built
on what was once the stage of the former Red Lion School. The
building currently houses the Huntingdon Valley Library, the HVAA
office, the Huntingdon Valley Youth Center, the Red Lion Gym,
and in the future will include a Township Community Room. The
space for our office has been donated for HVAA's use by Lower
Moreland Township. The renovations to build the office took approximately
1-1/2 years to complete, and was accomplished through volunteer
work by HVAA and community members. Our monthly Board of Directors
meetings are held here on the third Thursday of every month from
7:30 PM until 11:30 PM, and are open to all HVAA members (parents,
players, coaches). HVAA has also allocated space to the Boy Scouts
of America within our offices.
We also use this office for all walk-in registrations,
for providing space to perform administrative work for all HVAA
activities, and for storing all HVAA records.
Also located at 625 Red Lion Road is the Red Lion
Gym. This facility was once the gymnasium for the Red Lion School.
HVAA is granted the use of the gym for selected indoor practices,
basketball programs, and approved special events. It includes
rest rooms and water fountains for players and spectators. Entrance
to this facility is gained through the HVAA entrance, located
to the rear of the complex on the ground floor.
HVAA Baseball Fields
HVAA uses fields located at Elkins Field, Pine Road
Elementary School, the LM Schools Bus Barn, on Red Lion Road,
the Lower Moreland High School, Bryn Athyn Elementary School,
and in Lower Moreland Park. Lower Moreland Park contains three
baseball fields - Albidale 60' Field, Albidale 75' Field #1, and
Albidale 75' Field #2. Elkins Field includes Elkins Field A (closest
to the parking lot) and Elkins Field B (closest to the creek).
During baseball season, toilet facilities are available
at all locations except the Lower Moreland High School and Bryn
Athyn Elementary School.
HVAA Basketball Courts
Through cooperation with the Lower Moreland School
District and Lower Moreland Township, HVAA has the use of basketball
courts located in the Pine Road Elementary School, the Murray
Avenue Middle School, the Lower Moreland High School, and the
Red Lion Gym. HVAA members are reminded that we are guests in
all of these facilities. Showing the proper respect for these
facilities, observing their rules and regulations, and keeping
the facilities clean will ensure a continued positive association.
Soccer Fields
HVAA soccer programs use fields at Elkins Park,
Ridgeway Park, Lower Moreland Park (commonly referred to as the
Albidale fields), Bryn Athyn Elementary School, and the Lower
Moreland High School. Lower Moreland Park has 3 soccer fields
- Albidale A, Albidale B, and Albidale C.Facilities at these locations
vary.
Rest rooms are available at Lower Moreland Park,
but due to a lack of volunteers to open this facility and monitor
its use during game days, it is often locked. Even when open,
it has been the target of intentional vandalism. Over the past
year of use during baseball and soccer, foreign objects have been
placed into toilets and then the toilets have been flushed repeatedly
causing them to overflow. Mud has been thrown against the inside
of restroom walls and left to dry. More HVAA member volunteers
can solve this problem. Please contact us if you are willing to
volunteer your time to make this facility available. Email us
at Volunteer@hvaa.net.
Portable toilets are available at Elkins Field.
There are no facilities available at Bryn Athyn, Lower Moreland
High School, or Ridgeway Park.
Roller Hockey Rink
Through a cooperative effort between HVAA and the
Academy of the New Church and Bryn Athyn, we have been granted
the use of the Bryn Athyn Rink. This has enabled us to offer a
Roller Hockey program. As with the use of the basketball courts,
HVAA members are reminded that we are guests, and as such, need
to insure that our actions are consistent with their terms of
facility usage.
