HVAA Cheerleading is offered for ages 5-14, and broken into squads based on ages of participant registration. Our goal is to perform sideline cheers at one scheduled flag football game per week along with a choreographed halftime routine. Cheerleaders will also have the opportunity to participate in at least one winter competition per season. (Amber, is winter competition an incremental cost outside of the registration price? If yes, think we need to be upfront and say it.) Cheerleaders will learn basic cheerleading motions, jumps, and stunts.
Our season will run from August through October. From August through September practice will be two days a week to learn and choreograph routines and cheers. When the full season rules are in effect, athletes must be fully available and committed and be able to attend practice once a week and a game once a week. Cheerleading is a team sport that requires attendance from all athletes in order to efficiently perform stunts and choreography. For this reason, it is important that all athletes are fully committed to all practices.
